An Addition

Here are my beautiful girls playing on their soon to be playhouse.

Mathan is building us a storage room/playhouse/sunroom, and its exciting to see it coming together! We'll have a room for food storage and a room for tools and other stuff on the bottom level. On the top there will be a little balcony and a room with big windows all around. Perfect for sunset watching for me and storm watching for Mathan. I'm sure the girls are going to love it too as they grow older. It will be perfect for sleep-overs and all sorts of imagined adventures. The walls are up now but I'll have to post those pictures later. We just got the rest of the material for it last night, so all we need is time to do the work.
I don't know why, but just today I've been thinking about when I was little and had nothing to worry about. I remember coming home from school and putting my bag down, taking off my shoes, getting a glass of cold milk and cookies, and watching reading rainbow and 321 contact. Just letting my mind veg for an hour before the boring adult shows and news came on. We only had three tv channels and so usually there where only a couple shows that we were mildly interested in. After that we'd go outside and have our imaginary adventures or climb a tree. Sometimes I would give the horses some hay and climb on there backs while they were eating and just lay there. Absolutely nothing on my mind. I loved it, but not as much as I love the memory of it. Now there is always always something to worry about, something I have to get done, something I'm responsible for. And there will be til the day I die. Maybe this little sunroom that Mathan is making me will be my escape back to those days when nothing really worried me. Even if its just for a few minutes every now and then. Some milk and cookies, a nice sunset to watch and I'm seven years old with not a thing on my mind.

No way am I doing your tag Val! Here's a different one.
1.) Have you ever been fired? You can't fire me, I QUIT! No.
2.) What is something you regret? I wish I had taken more pictures of the fun times in high school and college.
3.) How often do you go over the speed limit? I'm constantly over by 4 or 5 miles.
4.) Were you considered popular in high school? Why or why not? I think most people knew who I was but I was too quiet to be popular.
5.) When, if ever, do you think it is okay to tell a lie? I think its okay to say you feel better than you really do. Maybe it will make you feel better to say you feel great.
6.) How old are you in your dreams? I dream a lot about school so I guess a teenager. I looked it up and the interpretation is I want to go back to a simpler life without the adult pressures. You can say that again!
7.)Do you dance like crazy, when no one is looking? Even when I'm alone I can't let go of all my inhibitions. I dance crazier with a bunch of people.
8.) What do you do when (you think) no one is looking? Eat chocolate, and other ridiculously yummy junk
9.)When you were younger, did you ever eat too much and get sick? I don't think so. I remember bursting at the seams on Thanksgiving though.
10.) Did you ever run away from home? I never packed my bags and left, but I'd run out and climb a tree just to be alone
11.)Did you ever have a teacher who picked on you? No, but I had one that flirted with me....shudder
12.)What was the most embarrassing thing that ever happened to you? I'm really good at erasing those memories.
13.) What really gives you the creeps? Centipedes, mold, rotten stuff.
14.)Did you have a nickname in middle school or high school? Not any that stuck except for Eva Laree...Thanks Jess
15.) Which is your wish that is not yet fulfilled? Having a beautiful house full of secret rooms and beautiful things.
16.)What was your favorite toy when you were a kid? My stuffed cat named Candy
17.) If you had to choose a movie title for your life story, what would it be? Gone with the Wind...Everything goes so fast!
18.) What item that you don’t currently possess would you most like to have in your house? A dishwasher!!!
19.) Best or worst complement you've received? One time I was all gussied up for a concert and and a guy knocked on our door and when I answered the door his mouth dropped open and he stood there stuttering. If he was faking he was a great faker!

What to do...

Mathan is going on a three day camp out with the scouts so it's just me and the girls. Whenever Mathan is gone I go into girl party mode. As in movie/pizza night, shopping for completely unnecessary things, Organizing some get together or trip. Right now I'm thinking about the zoo and aquarium in Phoenix. Hummm. I wish Ellen was a better car traveller. She hates riding into Snowflake and that's only a 30 minute trip! Maybe just a picnic in the pines with Mom and Andrew. Poor Mathan, we've been married for almost five years and I'm still in the "joined at the hip" stage. I'm fine during the day but at night I get lonely and don't always sleep well when he's gone. I'm thinking I'll never get over that part. Until I do I'll keep resorting to your standard girl party...Ice cream anyone?

Just for laughs

Here are some all time favorites that make me laugh every time. I have tons of pictures that I love but these all have great caption potential. The warrior pose... Go and fetch my clothes!
GLORIOUS SUMMER!!!!

Can you hang on a sec...
This is how I feel at church on Sunday.

There's something about bananas that brings the nerd out of you.

May's muscle bike...Hey baby want a ride?

I choose HAPPINESS!

This weekend Barbara Barrington Jones came to our stake and did a women's conference sort of thing and it was so fun and uplifting. I thought I'd put a few things that hit home for me.

Most of the things she spoke about weren't new to me but I always need reminding. The thing that I've been thinking of most is that we choose everyday whether to be happy or sad or just blah in my case. It is a decision. Like in the BofM when it says "things to act and things to be acted on" We can act and make our lives wonderful, or we can be acted on and just moan about the things that "happen to us".

"I'm sick and tired of these stupid things that keep happening to me! And somebody better do something about it soon!!!" :) name that movie~

The life I want is here and now!

The only thing I lack today is gratitude.

Seriously, I have health, home, the best husband ever (sorry girls, its true), two beautiful, healthy girls, food, clothes, employment, transportation, and we're on our way out of debt, the gospel...I have it GREAT! That is...when I'm grateful. When I'm not its the pits!

Life is not just surviving the storms, it's learning to dance in the rain.

Look for the humor in your life. Be able to laugh at yourself. Find the humor in unpleasant situations.

I love it when something miserable happens and I just crack up. Sometimes it happens and people look at me like I'm crazy, but so many unpleasant things are hilarious! Like Ellen with a bowl of apple sauce on her head!
